wait, wait, the internet is going to *help* my social life?
*pimps*

I hereby pimp this fun and amusing idea of comedownstairs, wherein we go to this entry and write in Where We Are And What We Like To Do and ferret out folk in our areas of residence with similar interests to hang out with (interest #1 being "propensity to fill out things on livejournal!", I presume).

'Tis fun! And entertaining to read up on other people. And dude, if it ends me up with a Star-Trek-watching knitting circle in Western Massachusetts (that takes random manic midnight baking trips to the nearest 24-hour grocery store), I will be full of delight.

Someone tell me this isn't the first step to a world of exclusively online dating, please?

... oh, you in the corner talking about the sinful livejournal girlfriend, you be quiet.

feel: flirtyfriendly
hear: old recordings of dad playing the piano, I think.

Um, okaaaay. It's not. Really, it's not. Although it brings new meaning to "safe sex."

Didn't think so. But then realized that by having any social life of the friend variety online, I've already taken the first step. *meeps*

This bout of fear brought to you by the sites I keep finding on work computers whenever I try to illegally check livejournal. :)

Ignore those sites. Those are for *other* lj users.

There totally is! *nods and thinks about waaay too many possibilities*

It's possible that I have too much time on my hands...

See, I am very paranoid and fear anything that even looks like this.

I should be more paranoid than I am, really.

*giggles*

See, er, I lucked into roommates who are just as geeky... I suppose that's why I get all my social interaction here. hrm.

Ah yes, well, that's the best. *misses my fraternity, omg*

can I tease you now for putting your name on the list? (not generally my thing to put myself of stuff like that, but I can still look *grins*)

Did I tell you about how I ran into katejaneway online because there was Atlantis stuff on her journal and turns out we went to middle school together?

And yes, you can tease me. I still want my damned geek knitting circle, though. (Come on! FRIDAY NIGHTS with sci-fi and KNITTING!! It'd be like the Pawtucket House of Couch all over again, except without sickness. And depression. And... that weird class you were taking with the not-Vulcan anatomy.)
w0lfstar: Empress Hoshi by naushikaw0lfstar on June 15th, 2005 08:07 pm (UTC)
No, you did not tell me! That is funny!

OK, I am TOTALLY all for geeky knitting circle, which would totally rock! Though nothing can replace Pawtucket House of Couch! Nothing! *loves* And what can be more fun than not-Vulcan anatomy? (other than Vulcan anatomy, of course. You know, I just realized that being a doctor in the Star Trek universe is very much like being a vet now in so much as you have to learn all this info about a whole variety of species. OMG, I want to be a Star Trek doctor! Best job ever! So sad that it isn't possible)

*joins your knitting circle over great distance*

Hey, found you via comedownstairs's post. Sadly, I'm nowhere near you, but do you mind if I friend you anyway?

Why, I hear you ask? Well, your userinfo and this post of yours makes me love you. *g* I so do not agree on some you ships, but for more than a few of them I was squeeing right there with you (and you watch Dead Zone!). *g* Plus, to find somebody that doesn't want spoiled and demands the LJ cut? Well, I just have to friend you. ;)
Loriel Erisloriel_eris on June 15th, 2005 10:02 am (UTC)
PS...
And the reason I followed your comment to you your LJ? It was all about this icon. My first thought when I saw it? I want to read this fic like you wouldn't believe... *g*
Little Red: sg - x-files - lizmylittleredgirl on June 15th, 2005 01:20 pm (UTC)
Re: PS...
That icon largely comes from the now sadly inactive community shipwithpants, wherein Sam and Jack, er, watch the X-Files. And wear pants. (No, really, it's less bad than that.)

A bunch of us were all "HEY. We want happy fluffy omgsqueee, enough with this ANGST!" and created a squeeeverse wherein Sam and Jack spent the end of season five on being friends and watching X-Files "not-dating." (Hence, the pants: the first rule of not dating is the pants stay on.)

Er... I am explaining this badly this morning. It is cornball and fluffy, that's about it. *is inspired to ressurect it now, omg*

(icon is by liminalliz, who is BRILLIANT, yay)
Loriel Erisloriel_eris on June 15th, 2005 02:28 pm (UTC)
Re: PS...
Have spent the past half hour starting at the beginning and reading the fic. *g*

...

And some indeterminte time later, I realise that a) I never actually posted this comment and b) I have read almost everything at shipwithpants... *g*

It's very cool, and you explained the whole concept very well. (And I never left feedback, but your fic there? I thoroughly enjoyed. :))
Little Red: gleee! - nenyamylittleredgirl on June 15th, 2005 01:32 pm (UTC)
Ooo! You can definitely friend me. :) We do seem to run in some similar internet circles, so it's, er... kind of like we live in the same place?

And dude, I probably don't agree with some of those 'ships anymore. (And some of them might have been a joke, I can't recall. Mostly not, though.) Hee. I DO watch Dead Zone, but am a season behind because I've been watching on DVDs. I'll try to catch up this month. :) And hey, I'd love to hear your commentary on those pairings, cuz, omg, squeee! (note to self: must update for new shows, wheee.)

I swear I'm unspoiled mostly out of laziness. And because it kills my fic muse dead.
Loriel Eris: sam & jack // kyiziloriel_eris on June 15th, 2005 01:47 pm (UTC)
so it's, er... kind of like we live in the same place?

On LJ it's all relative. ;)

I DO watch Dead Zone, but am a season behind

I'm only about half way thru S2 - I'm in the UK and without Sky TV so I have to rely on terretial TV and I'm terminally behind on every show I watch... You have no idea how hard this makes avoiding spoilers! The only reason I'm as far as Sg1 8x14 is because I've got a friend that dowloads the eps and sends them to me.

And hey, I'd love to hear your commentary on those pairings, cuz, omg, squeee!

If I can be done swearing at Java, and find the time before I go to Germany next week, I'll do it in the next few days, otherwise, remind me! And update your list! You know you want to. ;)
