*sparkly gleee party!!*
*gleeegleeegleee!*

!!!!!!!!!

My dad got *so* fed up with his sparkly new powerbook over the past few months that he is going to give it to me!

He claims this is only logical, since my poor little third-hand ebay WallStreet with no timing manager that always thinks it's 1908 is really really ready to go rock on the porch with the other retired computers and play golf all day. I was going to have to buy an ibook right away. And he, apparently, has only been using his powerbook to check his email once a day, because he hates everything about it and is royally mad at himself for buying it, or something. DadQuote: "It's like driving a Mazerati to pick up the kids from soccer."

And, more quote, "You have a computer-geek roommate who can explain all this stuff to you so when I finally bite the OSX bullet you can explain it to me." keenween, you seriously impressed him. DadQuote: "Any discussion involving the term 'open-source architecture' makes me panic."

Redux: I AM GETTING SPARKLY NEW COMPUTER!! I will no longer have to beg and pray every time I click the power button! I will no longer keep getting messages that my hard drive is full or that my internet won't work or that my computer is having an identity crisis because it thinks it's 1908!

Bouncing. So. Much. Cannot. Contain. GLEEE.

redbeard? This means I will finally speak OSX like the rest of the civilized macworld.

I'm going to have to name it something appropriately sparkly.

This doesn't really belong here, but as far as that colour-meme goes, I am blue.

BLUE

You give your love and friendship unconditionaly. You enjoy long, thoughtful conversations rich in philosophy and spirituality. You are very loyal and intuitive.

Find out your color at Quiz Me!

Sounds about right... although I wish the colour itself were red :)

Yay! Welcome to my OSX world (or as htebizile likes to call it, Oh-SeX, but, well, that's eliz for you)

You will love it in all of it's wonderousness. If only because your sftp client is called fugu and has an adorable blowfish as its icon. I also reccomend fire for all of your chat needs (it does yahoo, aim, and more) although ichat is pretty swank, and with an attached cam, allows you to have a de facto video phone over the internet. Or just a regular phone sans video with no cam.

Yay! Enjoy!

Oh my god you are the COOLEST, big brother! I didn't even have to *ask* for the links! You just up and provided! :)

I can't play too much yet, as my dad's things are still on here and mine are still on my beloved WallStreet... but SOON! Hee :)

the fact that I impressed him makes me sad
I'm not nearly 1337 enough for that

"It's like driving a Mazerati to pick the kids up from soccer practice." hee! That's exactly how I felt about my Powerbook when I first got it. And not only a Mazerati, but one in which the labels and instructions and everything were all in Japanese, and it really just wanted to take me to soccer practice however it thought best, but I kind of wanted to, you know, DRIVE.

But now I've had it a year, and I've whipped it into submission. Mostly. I wish you much luck and happiness with yours. :)

My Dad got very excited when I read him your comment. "Yes! Japanese! That's PERFECT! You have very smart friends."

Re: Powerbook
Did you install OS9 on it or are you just using the oS9 platform of OSX?

My father says you are "a man after his own heart," by the way. He has big signs up all over his office saying DON'T UPGRADE!!

Just had to drop some congrats in here. PowerBooks are the best things in the universe. Smart, logical, sexy ... and a good friend. And OSX? Suh-weet! Actually? Beyond! (Gee, can you tell I'm biased? Heh.)

Oh, and I, too, can recommend Fire for chatting. I use iChat for AIM because I have it all spiffed up, but Fire for everything else.

Wheee!

I am SO jealous!
That is wonderful, Little Red. I am insanely jealous of your new spiffy computerishness. Neato. :) Now at least your computer feels alive and awake! And you can do all sorts of spiffy things with it, even if all they are for the moment is updating your LJ and writing far more prolifically than I ever shall. :)

I came out green on that meme...interesting...thought I'd be blue since I love blue. Oh, well.
