Sueno - which should have a tilde on the n - means dream. So that username means "life is a dream".

*glees, for has been wished happy things*

Both of the above commenters are correct, and I did choose this name based on the title of the play, which I had to read in Spanish class many years ago.

i'm no romance philologist... but i've got to admit- this word (given its meaning) looks more like it's germanic counterpart than the romance ones, making me wonder if it was borrowed rather than being natively derived. theoretically, this is the somn- stem from latin (sogn- in italian). but in OE it's swefn, svefn if norse (bork bork bork).

i guess the italian really does lend itself to showing sueño as a native word (freakin' spaniards and their tilde ridden nasals)... but gotta love indoeuropean languages being more similar than different. w00t.

INDOEUROPEAN IS LOVE.

I pretend I'm no longer an academic, but I'm such a linguistics dork anyway. I'm reading Pinker for fun right now (and trying to explain THE JOY OF X BAR THEORY to non-linguists is... well, it just makes you feel kinda foolish), and periodically I'll just stall out in the middle of work trying to figure out why things can be out of the box but not in of the box, but things can be inside of the box... you get the idea. ;)

Hope you're doing well, Senor The Red!

from one red to another... syntax frightens me... (xbar is, well, just foolish anyway, no? hahah) mark "The dingo ate my interest" johnson kinda killed syntax for me... but i sure do love using xbar to deal with relative clauses in gothic!

niuh filuwaurdeith- ik sezlep.

"wax not hyperloquacious- i be sleepin', (foo')" (and no, this does not illustrate anything resembling a relative, but does show the nifty long-stem subjunctive ending used for an imperative... w00t)

as for the wellness- i fail on that front- bigtime. you seem to be doing well from the lj bits i've noticed.
