Who am I and what have I done with myself?
I've written 2600 words this weekend of Weir Saving Sheppard for the Girl Saves Boy Thon... and they seem to insist on remaining completely professional and not eyefuck each other. The hell!? That's not even canon. Has my muse gone on some kind of ship fast?

(Das Boy says the rules say I cannot have a muse, because I am a girl. My muse, who is a saucy bitch who didn't follow me out of the rebel punk phase, flips off the rules without putting down her jack & coke.)

What's the shippiest Sparky episode of Atlantis, y'all? I'm thinking "Conversion" or "The Siege Part Whatever"... but I feel like I have FORGOTTEN SOMETHING AMAZING. Chime in please!

Das Boy is v. v. v. wrong. My Muse says so, and she would know, having graduated from the Collegium so long ago, she won't admit the date.

Intruder also has the Table, LR. Good times, good times.

I totally rewatched the table scene earlier because the story references part of Intruder and, like, HOW could I watch ANY part of Intruder without the table scene!? I should really watch the whole thing. The eyefucking was epic.

\o/

I don't remember the rest of Intruder. Perhaps? There is also that one where Kolya tortures John, and Liz has to make the Hard Choices. There is epic angst to be had afterwards.

Oh, oh, and The Real World. GETS HIMSELF INFECTED TO SAVE HER.

I don't have that season! Which is probably good, because then my muse might strike ENTIRELY.

I would very much agree. That and the first scene of Intruder make me squee... and the hug in Siege part 3, and the whole way John reacts to Kolya taking Elizabeth hostage in The Storm/The Eye... eeeeeeee damn I have to watch all this again I MISS THEM.

She's hardcore. Far more hardcore than me. And yet, she inspires me to write a lot of sappy fluff.

Also, I actually vote for The Siege as well, particularly when Everett shows up and John risks his entire career to back Elizabeth up against the bastard. Because John does that for people he loves. :)

As for less well celebrated shippy moments:

"The Tao of Rodney" had the whole "Can I be next, please Mom?" convo between them about John trying the machine next so he could have superpowers, not to mention panicked glancing at each other throughout the episode.

"Duet" by the way, also has a lot of eye contact between them, plus the moment from this icon where John chases her down for her permission to keep the stray puppy Ronon.

And "Submersion." "I'm all yours. Put me to work, Colonel." *g*

And for me, though almost the entire episode has nothing to do with Elizabeth especially, the moment in "Sateda" (which is in this part of the ep, I think) when John and the gang are on their way to rescue Ronon, he and Teyla have that hilariously awkward conversation in the mess. Just before he says "I'd do anything ... for any one of you" he starts out by saying "You" to indicate Teyla, and then there's this tiny pause and this little, sheepish smile before he says "Elizabeth."

I didn't notice it the first time I saw the episode but now it's burned into my brain as a perfect example of those moments when the actors gave us so much to work with as shippers, regardless of whatever decisions TPTB made. As far as I'm concerned, Joe Flanigan and Torri Higginson both thought their characters were totally in love with each other, and that's all I care about. *footstomp*

So I just watched that clip from "Sateda," and I have absolutely NO recollection of any of it. Is it possible I somehow missed a whole episode!? Major DVR fail MANY YEARS AGO! And having only seen this one clip of Teyla thanking John for going to rescue Ronon, we're all totally clear that Teyla and Ronon are having sex, right? RIGHT?? I mean, I just watched Echoes from another rec in this post, and I FORGOT HOW AWESOMELY THEY WERE TOTALLY DOING IT.

Also: "I have friends!" AHAHAHA. I mean, he does, and he's less of a social misfit than this scene would imply, but still. AHAHAHA. (I much prefer this version of John's "I have no family" thing to "Letters from Pegasus" when I just yelled at the TV a lot.)

Why, why, do I have to go to bed and then work!!?? OH GOD I AM SO OBSESSED AGAIN.

Which is why you guys writing Sparky makes me so, so happy. It's more canon than the actual show. (Not to mention better writing).

I'm not sure! I guess, mythologically? He's very attached to details with this sort of historical-mythological thing, and I don't actually know anything about it, so I was like "Really? I'm so crushed!" and the muse was like "Oh, for chrissakes. What are they gonna do, ask me for my license and registration?"

CONVERSION OMG. And also The Long Goodbye, even if it wasn't them for most of it.
Little Red: sga - sw want - magnavox_23mylittleredgirl on September 20th, 2010 06:18 am (UTC)
I KNOW RIGHT?? Because Possessed!Lizzie is all "I really want to say goodbye to my husband. John, you'll do this for me, right??" and John is all "Errrrryes!" because it's not like he's going to let someone else do it.

AND CONVERSION. That episode. She's really the least qualified of anybody to protect herself, and she's the one who keeps going to see him to try and keep him grounded. <3 <3 <3 <3
Havochavocthecat on September 20th, 2010 01:09 pm (UTC)
Mmmm, yes, though I still maintain that the reason Teyla couldn't see early possessed!Elizabeth is because she'd have smacked the ever-loving shit out of all the boys for not realizing that gushing, girlish, giggly Lizzie is not Lizzie in control of herself. BUT YES. Clearly John isn't going to let anyone else, ah, "have a private goodbye" with Lizzie.

And that kiss was pretty smoking hot.

OH, CONVERSION. She doesn't even take Ronon with her! Or Cadman or Lorne or anyone. She just waltzes right in with utter trust that he's not going to hurt her. *happy sigh*
Little Red: sga - suck enough - nomadicwritermylittleredgirl on September 20th, 2010 02:07 pm (UTC)
BWAH. It is pretty lolarious that no one else picked up on that. But hey, they're all romantics at heart. Goodbye to husband? Of course we'll help! What could possibly go wrong?

I can't decide if after Conversion he has a talk with her about DON'T DO THAT AGAIN or if he just can't bring it up.
Havoc: lizzie/john desk sittinghavocthecat on September 20th, 2010 02:38 pm (UTC)
I feel like John goes to Lizzie's quarters post-ep to have a DON'T DO THAT AGAIN talk with her, but he walks in and starts fumbling with the talking about it, so she distracts him with sex. Because emotions are messy, but sex is easy. (AHAHAHA, Lizzie, fooling yourself is fun, isn't it?)
Little Red: sga - teyla girls only think - lizmylittleredgirl on September 20th, 2010 09:33 pm (UTC)
ADORABLE. I love that scene. And Elizabeth would be equally awkward, until the sexing, because they're both so bad at these sorts of things. (I believe for this instance of hurt/comfort/escape-from-awkwardness sexing, someone should get tied up. I nominate John. We can call it a trust exercise.)
Havoc: faith bad examplehavocthecat on September 20th, 2010 09:45 pm (UTC)
Oh, she would be terrible at it, which is why she'd distract with sex. Because emotions are messy and painful and real, and these are emotions she can't, in all good conscience, manipulate, which she can with diplomatic work.

Also, John being tied up is just plain hot.
Havochavocthecat on September 20th, 2010 01:14 pm (UTC)
Also, I missed your entire parenthetical. Das Boy is silly.

You mean they're not all insanely shippy?? :O

;)

I am actually weird about my shipping. I feel like Elizabeth realized she had ~feelings for John in like, episode 3, lol. Well, maybe not quite that soon. Maybe around the Siege, and then solidified in Conversion. And for John, he had a flash of OHMYGODWUT in TS/TE, and then was like, OHBADPLAN*BURIESFEELINGSANDMAKESOUTWITHALIENWOMEN* for like, two seasons. And then S3, they're both like, "Er...um. Uh oh." ESPECIALLY with The Real World. NGH. THAT EPISODE. IT IS CANON, OKAY. HE BROKE QUARANTINE. THAT CANONIZES IT. FOREVER.

...ngh, I want to watch that really badly right now. Crap.

...this is incoherent. I'm exhausted.

You should write me fic. *nods*

Storm/Eye, The Real World, and The Long Goodbye are probably my top contenders for shippiest. :)
