Fred Astaire played Starbuck's dad in an eppy, can't remember what that one was either. Crap memory.

OH MY GOD, that was Fred Astaire!?!?? *boggles*

Apollo was there! And Adama was all "WE LOVE YOU. BE AS OUR FAMILY." and I was all "I'll bet this would be awfully sentimental if I knew what had happened during the rest of this episode!"

I'm horribly tempted to 1) buy the DVDs and 2) go through the series and write snarky recaps. I think only about three people on my flist have ever seen that series, though, so I don't know if anyone would read them. ;)

I think he started it out as a complete con, and then it turned out he might actually be Starbuck's daddy, and then either he wasn't, or there was no way of knowing for sure.

I will have to watch it again when I buy the DVDs (or, er, when it airs again, if I'm being fiscally sane). I thought there was a scene with Cassie at the end where she's all "But you have to TELL HIM!" and he's all "NO! you can't TELL HIM! It's better if he doesn't KNOW!" or something equally dramatic.

But it was late, and I was tired, and I will need to watch again.

Since I have watched that episode around 3 times now, I can say that he DOES turn out to be Starbuck's dad. (but turns out to be super-cool dad by telling Cassie not to tell Starbuck that so that Starbuck doesn't quit being a warrior.) So, yes, he IS Starbuck's dad. eeeeeeeeeeeee!
