Frequently Asked Questions
Dude, did you die of cholera on your way to Portland or something?

No! I actually made it! I didn't even lose any bullets in the river!

Do you have a place to live yet?

Sort of! w0lfstar and I have located a duplex in Aloha, Oregon that we have named FORT AWESOME, for it is AWESOME and, er, fort-like. We have been approved to rent there by the landlord. Father of w0lfstar will look it over as a Responsible Adult on Saturday to see if we missed anything glaringly obvious that should keep us from renting it, and then I will hand in deposit cheque, omfg. We are not lying when we call it "Fort Awesome," for it has a two-car garage and a lawn that we do not have to mow and a gas fireplace. IT IS SUCH GLEEE.

Once we are sure that we have it and have a move-in date, address can be sent to interested parties in a blatantly obvious solicitation for mail and visits.

WTF is up with the internet abandonment?

Er, I suck. I have really been spending all my energy looking for places to live and staying healthy and being rather daunted by the internet. I've been getting my medically dictated share of computer radiation by looking through craigslist for places, so I still have a healthy green glow, but I haven't checked LJ or answered email or anything since Massachusetts.

I love! I love! I will return to the intarweb at some point soon when life and brain calm down, I am sure. In the meantime, if you have anything you would like me to see (Big Important Life Things, vids or fics I must see, LJ posts in which you have started rumors about me, etc), leave a comment! And I will try. Really. Soon. Also let me know if I owe you anything, as I apparently left some important memory-containing brain cells in Idaho somewhere.

Have you seen new 'lantis?

No! Not yet, so no spoilers please. Sorry! We did acquire ourselves Season 1 DVDs when Bank of America gave us free money and are enjoying watching it dubbed in Portuguese on the Sheryl's parents' giant-ass TV screen.

Expect the final update of the Oregon Trail soon! Yay!

*much love*

Fort Awesome does indeed look awesome. Also, because my mother has told me this enough times, it is now AUTOMATIC that I tell you must make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector next to the fire!

*clings tightly*

Omg, you were in Iowa and I have a postcard from Iowa now with CORN and it is on the wall next to my bed and I was looking at it before I fell asleep and I dreamt that you were in The X-Files movie and ran through cornfields to escape bees and helicopters and stuff. Err, yes.

... okay! I had never heard of such a device, but have researched them and will purchase one. Yay! You have saved lives, w00t. :)

Eeee! This whole country is very X-Filesish. ;) And Iowa was exciting! SO PRETTY. Nebraska had tumbleweeds, though, which was fucking AWESOME, because it was like playing Asteroids in the car with all these inanimate objects flying at you to be dodged. Heeee.

*so much love, yay!*

p.s. OMGWTF, it costs lots of moneys to visit the US from Scotland. I checked on flights being all "yay, Kimmy could come visit!" and that was a lie, for it is many moneys. Eep! *shakes fist at big ocean*

Dude, that looks like EXACTLY LIKE the duplexes one street over from me!

And we still love you? Er, I do, anyway. Can't speak for the rest of the hooligans on your friends list. ;) Let us know when you're back online more regularly, 'kay? I think I may hold off on posting my Spygate fic till you can read it. (Hah, so magnanimous of me. This gives me more time to finish it. *innocent* )

Little Red: oregon trailmylittleredgirl on November 25th, 2005 07:55 pm (UTC)
It is so unbelievably grown-up! We feel very cool with this pretending to be adult thing. ;) And then my mother was all "er, honey, you're 23. You ARE grown up." And then it got a bit scarier. ;) But eeeee! And I will try to get a job working for NIKE WORLD, because the Nike world headquarters are practically right down the street. This will be exciting, for the building looks like it could possibly blast off into space.

I love! I love! I will return to the intarweb at some point soon when life and brain calm down, I am sure. In the meantime, if you have anything you would like me to see (Big Important Life Things, vids or fics I must see, LJ posts in which you have started rumors about me, etc), leave a comment!

Hmm... maybe I should just catch you up with what's been going on in the land of Meg, save you the trouble of having to go through alllll those posts I've made lately. Okay, here we go...

1. I went back to school. Dude. Trippy. Who'da thunk? I just reeeeally wanna learn another language.

2. At the last minute, I joined our town's Santa Claus Parade. Sooooo much fun, but a lot of walking.

3. I finally have a RL single friend who lives nearby!! My buddy Nicole has moved back home for a while, so we're making huge plans. She's gonna take me for pottery lessons! Yay!

4. I had a new boyfriend, briefly. Like, 3 weeks. But yesterday he announced he's moving. No, I'm not likely to get over it.

5. I might be getting violin lessons in the new year. :)

Yes, you were gone a very long time! *wags finger*

Um... okay, so I might have exaggerated just a teensy bit. Heh heh! I couldn't resist! The real list...

1. Me and my dad went to my old church/school last Saturday, and he took me for a look around. The trippy part was so true - it's all different! I also saw some familiar faces, because folks were there practising the Christmas nativity play thingy. Veeeeery trippy. They're all, like, older. Hmm.

The "learn another language" part is also true... but I'm doing it online. ;)

2. We did this because we'd gone to see the Santa Claus Parade, and we were, like, a five minute drive away from the church. I wasn't kidding about the walking part. We got there late, and had to walk half a mile, at least, to get a good place to stand. Then we had to leave early because people were SMOKING. Seriously, why would anybody smoke in a crowd of little kids? Insanity. But it was fun. :)

3. This one is mostly true! Nicole has, indeed, finished travelling the world for a while, and she plans on settling here and getting her own apartment. Once she does, we do plan on doing tons of stuff together, but the pottery thing is a bit iffy. I'd love to do it, but right now I'd be too nervous. Soon!

4. Heh heh... did I have you going with this one? I totally did, didn't I? ;) I had a new TV boyfriend briefly *points at icon*, but it was announced yesterday that the show will be cancelled. *sigh* I'm bummed.

5. The violin lessons is wishful thinking for now. It's possible except for the cost, though! *crosses fingers*

oh, and...

6. I'm planning on going to our church's Christmas Nativity thingy next weekend with my dad. Meep!
Little Redmylittleredgirl on November 25th, 2005 08:08 pm (UTC)
You had me SHRIEKING with surprise, dude. Okay, well, shrieking in my head. And going all "OHMYGODWHAT!?" and then "Huh, maybe I should go away more often..." ;)

Anyway. I am shaking my fist at you. But that was fun. :) And I'm so glad that things really ARE going so well for you! What language are you learning? *linguistic geekiness* Eeee, I am so delighted for you about all this stuff! I'm so disappointed that I didn't get to come and see you on my way out here, but alas, crossing the border with electronics in my car would've been too big of a hassle. I sent you a postcard, though! But I can't remember from which state now. It is all a blur in my braaaain. :)

Good luck with the pottery thing if it's possible!! I look forward to catching up on all of your real-life adventures soon. :)

Omg carbon monoxide detectors are Very Important! It is one of the many things my mother has drilled into my brain, like the glass test for meningitis and graphic descriptions of what happened to children who ran with scissors (my mother to 5-year-old me: "Did you ever hear the story about little Janie? Her mother told her to never run with scissors, but little Janie didn't listen. One day, little Janie was working on an arts and crafts project for her church youth group and needed a pair of scissors. She went down to the kitchen to borrow a pair and, with scissors in hand, Janie RAN back to her room. Well, Janie should have listened to her mother, because she tripped over and IMPALED HERSELF ON THE SCISSORS and there was blood everywhere. And little Janie died that day, slowly and painfully and ALL ALONE. And then little Janie BURNED IN HELL for all eternity, because she didn't listen to her mother. And did you ever hear the story of little Bobby, who ran with scissors and LOST A TOE?". 5-year-old me: "O_O") and such. But they are useful Safety Devices to have, yes.

Ooh! I just checked on flights (I get student discount, yay) for spring break and I can actually get to Chicago for under £500. Of course, Oregon is quite a way from Chicago, but still! I also don't have £500, but if I did, I would come and visit!! (maybe next year! when I will have MONEY from my summer job of gleee!) Or, my Evil!Dad has a yacht, which I could totally steal borrow and sail to America from Norway! Like the Vikings did! I do not know how to sail at all, but I imagine if I just point the boat in a vaguely west-ward direction, I'd hit America at some point, because hey, your country is HUGE. :)

Little Redmylittleredgirl on November 26th, 2005 09:43 pm (UTC)
OMG, I developed a childhood paranoia of having things in my mouth like straws and toothpicks, because someone could push me over and they could stab through the back of my neck!! Eep. Although your mother sounds like she was a bit more nightmare-inducing than mine in that respect, because omgeep.

Wheeee! Chicago is indeed quite far, alas, but we will figure out a way! Or I will get in with a company that will fly me to Scotland for, er, some reason! Yay. :)

Steal the yacht, yay! Oregon is on the coast! But the pacific coast, so that is not quite so useful with the lack of a northwest passage and all.
