OMG. My Crazy Yankee Fan Coworker refuses to talk baseball with me until the Yankees win something.

What the-

Do they get extra brownie points in Yankee Heaven if they convert one of us?

*snickers at you* She's trying to convert a Red Sox fan? Huh. Those Yankee fans are crazier than I thought...

He IS! (Girls don't Do Sports out here in Portland, apparently...) Actually, he totally Respects Boston Fans more than most Yankee fans, which is pretty cool, and he knows a lot... but... c'mon!

It's hard for Yankee fans to watch their team lose. Harder than for Sox fans, because Sox fans? Always kind of expect it. We hope and pray, but there's a big pessimism streak in Sox fandom that isn't there in Yankee fandom, so I don't really understand the desire to just Not Talk about your team if they're losing. Curse at them! Pray loudly! Come up with alternative strategies while insulting the management!

OMG, it's a boy? AHAHA, boys are babies when it comes to sports. I swear they're worse than like.. the people over at fandom wank. *pats him*

And yes! I know this as I am a tangential Cubs fan! Losing is kind of like winning only there's more booze on a regular basis! I think I want to go walking by the lake today. It's pretty out!

OMG, why? Why do they do that? It annoys me. Yankees fans have this huge issue with admitting loss. We Red Sox people know loss. We understand the concept. That is why when we win, it's so much sweeter.

Are you watching the game?? Because I'm only getting the text play-by-play, and I can't figure out what the heck is going on. Somebody hit a ground ball single to the catcher? Why is that not a bunt? How did the Yankees switch pitchers in the first inning?

I should probably be, like, working right now...

I missed the beginning of the game, but I saw that the Yankees pitcher got hit somewhere early in the game so that is why he was replaced. And there was a flying bat incident which almost hit A-Rod. But yeah the text play-by-play can be a bit...odd.
