wait for me, bandwagon! waaaaaaait for meeeeee!!
I want to do this meme tooooo!!

Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I'll give you either (a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon, (b) a reason he/she sucks, (c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes, (d) five things that never happened to that character or (e) five people that character never fell in love with and why. You pick the character. I pick the letter.

Fandoms: Any Star Trek series, Atlantis, Stargate, Babylon 5, Lois & Clark, X-Files, CSI (first 6 seasons), Jake 2.0, Army Wives... huh. I have fewer fandoms than I thought. If I missed one, feel free to give me something from that, too!

Re: cause I'm in an evil mood
You ARE evil!

I am too, though, because I hear "never loved" and I think "really did love but it was twisted and sad for one reason or another so he'd never really think of it like that."

Aiden Ford
Little Red: sga - ford/teyla - thefakeheadlinemylittleredgirl on December 1st, 2007 06:14 pm (UTC)
I love you!

Three Four personal fanon things about Aiden Ford:

1) Aiden's parents died together in a car crash when he was 5, after which he lived with his grandparents. He tells people he doesn't remember his parents too well, but that's not true; he remembers a lot.

2) Until joining the Marines, Aiden lived his whole life in Las Vegas.

3) He was stationed out of the SGC for 8 months before the Atlantis expedition -- 6 months on an SG-team before transferring to the Antarctica research base. Dr. Weir was in charge of the SGC for some of his tenure there, so he's worked for her before. When they leave for Pegasus, he's been through the Stargate quite a few times, but it never gets old.

4) He's completely enchanted by Teyla, but worries they'll never speak the same language.

This is so fun INDEED! Oh. I kind of want to do a five-things-that-never for Trip, so I'll think on that while I answer Three Personal Fanon Things for the other two:

Weir:

1) Personal Weir Family Fanon: She has two brothers, one older, one younger. Her father was a benchwarmer for Michigan State when he was in college, and that means John (who sat at home memorizing statistics in the tenth grade) is all "NO WAY. That Andrew Weir!?" Her mother is a teacher, and bakes lots of pies.

2) She has never been legally married, but she was with Simon for almost seven years, on and off. She was always a little bit grateful for his fear of commitment.

3) She knows how John feels about her. Whenever she hears a rumor that he's taken up with someone, alien or otherwise, she tells herself she's a little relieved, and she doesn't want to think too much about all the other ways it makes her feel.

mini!Jack:

1) He suggested high school as a bitter joke, actually, but it somehow turned into the only serious suggestion. He knew that he needed to get out of the SGC, away from everyone, and the last thing he wants to do is to ask for other people's ideas on what he should do with his life (such as it is).

2) He hasn't forgiven Sam for voluntarily cloning herself. He loves mini!Sam, relies on her, is grateful to have her there... but he still hasn't forgiven her for doing that to herself.

3) He works at construction sites in the summers. Everything feels better when he's physically exhausted, building things. This makes him oddly happy, because it feels like he's changing things by moving Earth around, building his future.

Five Things Janeway Never Does:

1) Learns to play an instrument (except for once, with the Enarans, when Jor Brel played music through her -- but that doesn't count).

2) Admits she's wrong (well, without a corrollary, anyway).

3) Switches to decaf (except one time when she's hospitalized for stress and the doctors change it out without her noticing).

4) Gets married (except in that one mirror universe, but that doesn't count, even if Tom Paris laughed for months).

5) Gets over Voyager.

Janet Fraiser, please!
Little Red: sg - dan/jan lifeboat otp - anrmylittleredgirl on December 2nd, 2007 12:44 am (UTC)
Three Fanon Things About Janet:

1) She truly didn't intend to adopt Cassandra. For the first month, as the SGC searched for suitable parents, Cassandra was unearthly polite and sweet, called her Doctor, asked after Sam, played quietly with paints and toys. Her veneer didn't crack until Janet was stuck in quarrantine overnight and Cassandra had to spend an overnight with her sitter. Strangely, it was the moment when Cassandra willfully smashed an heirloom lamp and started screaming bloody murder that Janet grabbed her close and realized she would never let go.

2) The first time she got married was her twenty-first birthday, because he was the only man she'd ever loved, because her mother didn't want her to, because he asked, and because she didn't know if she'd ever get a better offer. He was a decent enough guy, but they grew apart, wanted different things, and they both hated that she was so much smarter than him. She feels no real need to ever get married again. If it comes up, she'll need some better reasons.

3) She's had her periods of wildness: before her marriage and after her divorce, mostly. She misses sex, misses dating, but refuses to bring home a man who would require her daughter to lie about her origins, and so they're a family of two with lots of friends. She misses it, but she only sometimes feels like she's missing out.

Delenn

Hoshi

Ronon
Little Red: peanuts - thinking at typewritermylittleredgirl on December 2nd, 2007 01:30 am (UTC)
Those aren't easy! *shakes pointer finger at you*

Three Fanon Things About Delenn:

1) She was never more fascinated by anyone than she was by Jeffrey Sinclair, the whole time she knew him. Something in her responded to him, not sexually, intellectually, but deeply, spiritually. She was the first to know about him. When she looks back on her life and evaluates her purpose, she thinks -- more than the war, more than the Rangers or Alliance or Humans, more than John -- that her path was laid to find Sinclair.

2) She never tells John the truth about Dukhat's death and the start of the war. It's out of love, more than anything else, because she believes it would be cruel to ask him to share that knowledge about her responsibility in the near-death of his world. It's about fear, a little, because everything important would fall apart. (That's about love, too.)

3) She calls it a beautiful transformation, and it is, but it takes years for her to recognize herself in the mirror and not feel somehow violated on the most base possible level. It isn't until David is born that the persistent feeling of being alone in the universe breaks.

Three Fanon Things About Hoshi:

1) Hoshi knows, on some intellectual level, that Travis and Captain Archer and Trip and Malcolm care about her, but she has a hard time truly believing that they would notice (personally, not professionally) if she were gone. She's always pleasantly surprised when someone does something to suggest that she's wrong about that.

2) Strangely, she never doubts that Phlox cares about her. When she's at her worst, she always turns to him. She thinks about having a child someday, in fleeting moments, and she always imagines that he will be the one to deliver and the baby and hand him to her.

3) She and Travis have an ongoing practical joke war going, and she thinks about her next effort weeks in advance. It makes her a little (more) paranoid opening doors and cabinets, but she has never known anyone else who can always make her laugh.

Three Fanon Things About Ronon:

1) He feels stifled on Atlantis often, frustrated by inaction and down-time, but he always stops that thought short of thinking 'I miss being a runner.' He doesn't, at all, but he longs for that kind of singular savage purpose again.

2) He respects Elizabeth Weir more than just about anyone he's ever met. He doesn't truly understand her, how she acts and thinks so far away from instinctual action-reaction, but he thinks in another life he could have been a little more like that.

3) He glues himself to Teyla's side because she gets it better than he does, understands the need to fight relentlessly, to venerate the Ancestors even as they live in their walls, and she gets the bigger picture. Helps him to get it, too. They have sex more than once, extensions of training or meditation sessions, company in an alien culture. If she gets pregnant, he'll marry her, but this isn't that for either of them. She gets that, too, better than he does.

Little Red: xf - scully baby - carolinamylittleredgirl on December 2nd, 2007 01:38 am (UTC)
Oh, gosh, I used to have really silly fanon about Monica. *giggles* Let's see what I can remember...

1) Monica was abandoned as an infant at a Texas train station in the very early morning. Her birth mother was never found or prosecuted. Her whole life, she has been unable to shake the horrible feeling that that woman knew something about her, something making Monica less deserving than other human beings.

2) She has more visions than she lets on, to John or anyone, because not all of them are right.

3) She would have done almost anything to save William. If Dana weren't so correctly convinced that the baby would be in danger if his connections to them and his roots could be discovered, Monica would have taken him and moved anywhere with only two seconds thought: her parents, and John. She would have gone anyway.

Three Fanon Things About New Adventures of Lois & Clark Lois Lane:

1) Even if she had known everything about him up front, she doesn't know how completely she would have been able to resist Lex Luthor. She's not entirely proud of it, but she has always been a little weak in the face of fame and power.

2) She loves her father fiercely, no matter how much she doesn't want to sometimes. She can hate her mother, but somehow, she can never bring herself to blame her father as much as she should.

3) If asked, she will maintain that knowing Clark and being with him hasn't changed her very much at all. No one else will believe her, but she will swear it to the end.

I have so much fanon for that girl, and so little of it is any good, but wheeee! Here! AND OMFG, your icon is to die for good. I love it so much. So. Much!

Three LR!Fanon Things About Talia:

1) Talia had a mother, a father, and a baby sister in a family that she barely remembers. She remembers her parents being afraid of her, never being allowed near her sister, and her father bringing her to the Center with a duffel bag she kept until she was 20. Her parents contact her only a few times, and not at all after the first year, but she still hopes her father was sad to see her go.

2) Talia and Lyta went through the Psi Corps Academy together and traveled a similar route through the internship program. There was a time when they were impossibly close, before Matt, before the wedding, and Talia thinks Lyta knows a part of her that no one else ever will. She always knew Lyta's rebellious streak would get her into trouble.

3) After Jason and then Matt, Talia doesn't think she has it in her to love truly deeply again. She hopes, though, and never stops hoping.

and 4 is total fanon:

4) Ultimately, Lyta is the one to rescue Talia. When he dies, Kosh leaves Lyta with unexplored powers and a data crystal that flashes in her mind with Kosh's mental image of Talia: all stars and light contained too tightly in a dangerous sphere. It's a year before she gets her chance, before the war, and Bester, and Mr. Garibaldi's independent business of questionable dealings provide her with what's left of her friend. She restores her with the almost tangible help of a long-dead Vorlon. Lyta apologizes and Talia isn't sure if Lyta is more sorry for unleashing the demon in the first place or for bringing her back to life.

Jake 2.0: Diane
Little Red: jake - geek love omg - graphicalrummylittleredgirl on December 2nd, 2007 02:29 am (UTC)
DIAAAANE! She is so awesomecakes.

Three Fanon Things About Diane:

1) Diane always suspected she'd go into research instead of medical practice, but she decided for certain after her medical school hospital rotations. She can't be that close to the action, she decided, because people and pain right in front of her cloud her judgment.

2) She feels personally responsible for Jake's situation because of her involvement in the nanotech project. She never stops feeling guilty. She doesn't think that's why she loves him, she hopes it isn't, but even if it is... it wouldn't be a reason to stop.

3) They don't last long as friends and coworkers after their adventure in Philadelphia, no matter how many good intentions they have. She soon stops thinking about how strange it is that her boyfriend can turn up the thermostat or start the morning coffee without even moving one arm from where he's wrapped around her. She never asks, but one day, he volunteers it when she's apologizing about all the hours he spends in her office for nanite maintenance and all the other reasons it's a drag to have experimental technology inside him. "You're worth it." They don't last long as boyfriend and girlfriend after that before he asks and she says yes.

YAY BEVERLY CRUSHER FANON!! I've had 20 years to work on this one, so it can be a bit cracked out in places. ;)

1) Beverly never knew her father, which is why she has her mother's name. There's a chance her father was somehow part-alien, or posing as human, which is why Wesley's so freakishly bright and only loosely tied to this space-time continuum. (That trait skipped a generation.)

2) She has loved completely only four people in her life: her mother, her grandmother, Jack and Wesley. She cares fiercely for many others, but she knows too well that everything in life is taken away.

3) She can't imagine not being a doctor, healing people with her hands and her heart and her mind, but that's not why she refused a permanent position at the head of Starfleet Medical. She came back to the Enterprise for Wesley. They were still close afterwards, but she worried for years that their relationship would never recover from her year away.
