Week Of Crazy: an update!
For those of you keeping track at home, I have accomplished:

1) Painting my entire new apartment, save the kitchen. I don't know what color I'm going to paint in there yet -- possibly the same green as the bathroom, since they mixed too much paint on accident so I have extra! It all looks fantastically awesome. Photos later!

2) Purchasing paint for old apartment. I am now the proud owner of a 5 gallon drum of primer and a 5 gallon drum of white paint.

3) Accomplished the relationship milestone of working on a large-scale project together. It was wonderful. (His ability to be endlessly supportive is impressive. My newfound ability to let him be supportive is perhaps more impressive.)

Things I have not accomplished:

1) Sleep. Fortunately, the panic is keeping me alert and somewhat productive. My boyfriend was a little weirded out by the way I shake uncontrollably while I go about my day, saying that he can't imagine being so relentlessly stressed for so long as I have been the past few weeks (whereas for me, this is kind of normal in times of deadlines, and I kind of thought it was for everyone). I don't really have any non-self-destructive ways of releasing physical panic energy in place, but if I can't actually release it, I'm managing it really well. :) As saidshe and I used to repeat in college: "No fear. No death."

2) Laundry. Thank god for casual Monday and Febreze.

3) Any packing of old apartment. I intend to blitz through that in a few hours tonight in a terrifying, tornado-y way, overcoming the always-draining Marathon Mondays at work with stress and CAFFEINE.

Icon love! (I just got into B5, and now every time I see it mentioned or iconed on my flist, I'm all a-comment with much "Eeee!" And especially when it's Ivanova!)

Green paint sounds lovely. Good luck with the old apartment, laundry, and getting sleep.

Oh, IVANOVA. She cracks me up. That show is so delightful... and bad... and delightful... often all at the same time!!!!

If there were no Ivanova, I would probably not watch the show. But there is an Ivanova, and I WANT TO BE HER. (Except maybe without the family issues. And various other psychological issues. But I want to kick as much ass as she does.)

:D :D

I'm doing pretty well! I moved to Israel, and am finishing up the application to Ben Gurion University for my PhD, and in theory I'll start this upcoming semester on April 16th! I thought I was applying for October, but apparently not! Kind of scary, but also good.

how'd the packing go? and the moving? and the sleeping?
Little Redmylittleredgirl on February 24th, 2009 05:32 pm (UTC)
I thought you were in Israel!! Where at? My extended fambly lives in areas around Tel Aviv, so I'm most familiar with that area... though I haven't been there in years.

I'm in Be'er Sheva. I like it! :D

You should come visit ;)

how's the whole moving and sleeping thing going?
Little Red: aw - cj/d *hugz* - natushkamylittleredgirl on February 24th, 2009 06:45 pm (UTC)
I'd love to visit! My dad would have a fit, though. ;) He's always like "I worked SO HARD to get out of Israel and now you want to go BACK!?" He has residual bitterness from religious school and the army, I think. I loved Israel when I went there. The clan mentality suits me quite well -- my aunt introduced me to so many people that were somehow distantly related to me that I think she knows the entire country.

I have heard of Be'er Sheva! And that it's really nice!! :)

Moving is going well! Sleeping is going a little bit!
רותם שחר (Ro): always be there SG1roothekittykat on February 24th, 2009 08:48 pm (UTC)
LOL. It happens :D Actually, relatively often. There are a lot of people with Israeli parents, or some connection like that, and the children of the people who left move back! It's kind of funny.

Hee, now a lot of people have heard of Be'er Sheva considering the events of last month. I'm definitely enjoying it here. Much more than I would be than if I were in Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem, I think. Even though those are both much more convenient locations for travel purposes.

Hurray for moving going well! Are you all moved, or do you still have more to go? Sleeping a little is better than sleeping none, so yey to that, too! :D

You know, I have no idea what's been going on there lately. Usually, though, when I hear "news" and "Israel," something is exploding. :(

My dad has always been SO worried about his kids moving back because of the violence -- even though it wasn't nearly as violent when I was little!

Sleeping little was very nice!

Well, that about sums it up!

You have to do a lot less packing to move within the same building than for a normal move. Won't be so bad! You might wanna think about getting one of those you-pack-it-we-haul-it cubes they put outside your house for your sister instead of a uhaul, that way you only need to move her stuff ONCE. Might even be cheaper, those uhauls are WAY more when you include all the fees and taxes than the $19.99 it says on the vans - it was more like $50 when my friend and I got one.

Too late on the haul-it cubes -- also, we couldn't do that since there's nowhere to put it near our place. We live on a major thoroughfare and will have to set up cones and flashers for the uhaul... and then run with stuff to avoid getting yelled at! ;)

We moved all our heavy stuff last night!! :) I'm sure her u-haul will end up costing more anyway because she's driving it all the way to Seattle, so it's one-way, and mileage, and etc.

I did get some!!! My new room is really warm. :) I didn't get much sleep, but I'm actively looking forward to next weekend when I can probably put in some earplugs, crank the heat, and snooze for a solid night. :) :) :)
