I watch Dancing With the Stars for one reason: SPRAY-TANNED, BEDAZZLED ESCAPISM from life as I know it hanging precariously by a thread the various overblown dramas in my life, and your part of the deal is that nothing actually bad is supposed to happen on this show.

Then today my obsessive internet-stalking of Dancing With the Stars was interrupted by news that Kym was rushed to the hospital after getting hurt in rehearsals and there are terrible pictures of her getting put in an ambulance on a stretcher with a neck brace and I just don't have the emotional fortitude to handle following reality television, I think.

They finally released the news that she's more or less okay (bruised and "shaken up," sore and in a neck brace, poor thing), so she's doing well enough for me to take a deep calming breath. Apparently she was even cleared to dance on Monday (costume department, can we get a neck brace with tassels?).

(RPF veterans: at what point do I get to take the fact that he was at her side in the hospital and turn this into a fic plot point for OTP romance? I FEEL REALLY AWKWARD now that I have been reminded that these are real people but I can't stop my fanon brain. HOW TO PROCEED. PLEASE ADVISE.)

In less dramatic and/or morally suspect news, here's a photo of Hines and Kym sharing a look when he brought her to an award dinner in Pittsburgh back in April:

Her lovely neck will be fine, hooray!

I would like to note that he bought her a Tiffany bracelet engraved with the Steelers logo for the occasion. I assume you can just make those sorts of things appear when you've won two Superbowls.

Speaking of, here's their snippet of The Dancers Confess (if you're out-of-country and can't see the hulu and yet somehow also care it's also on youtube):

Pretty much safe to say that after the ambulance and scariness, girlfriend is getting all the diamonds IN THE WORLD, right?

Oh, and the proposal they're referring to? Most beautiful cheesy thing in history:

She changed costumes for their next dance but still kept the ring on for the rest of the night. :)

I could basically go on for days with all the cutespam on the internet about these two. (YOU SEE. YOU SEE WHY I RPF. IT CAN'T BE HELPED.)

As far as Planet Mirrorballus goes, I just really, really hope they don't show us footage of her fall. I don't think I can cope with seeing Kym cry unless it's happy tears from getting her diamond ring, dammit. Show. I'm counting on you.

They are ADORABLE together! I thought their cheesy little dance was SO SWEET.

Injuries have been happening on the show since almost the beginning but more and more every season. Maybe dancers *do* get hurt this often, but I think the competition has gotten so stiff. And I think that the pros are more likely to get hurt dancing with someone who literally can't always have their back in the way another pro might, even someone as fit as an athlete (because they don't know what they're doing, really).

I saw someone well-wishing Kym on Twitter, but I didn't realize she had been hurt. Just thought she was sick or something.

YAYYYY! :) They are so cute! My brain explodes. Explodes with the cute.

Hines apparently said that they were doing a lift that Kym hadn't even done before, which makes me be like KYM, KYM, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING. The competition really is super crazy this year and also she's in love with him so thinks he can do no wrong and maybe takes extra chances IDK I should really stop.

I totally freaked out yesterday! I think I forgot I was watching a sport. The glitter and UST distracted me.

Hines posted on Twitter that she was back at rehearsal. Well, he posted it on Facebook and the two accounts are connected.

We might make you a resident of the Steeler Nation yet ;)

Hee! I was kind of a foster child of Steeler Nation last year, because I was the remote admin for our Pittsburgh office and so made a lot of "GO STEELERS!" type posters and stuff for them to hang up. I did grow up a Pats fan in New England, though, so I'm pretty sure Steeler Nation wouldn't have me. ;)
